Hello drama family!
This is that lady, the Asian Drama Mama. But, let's just call me Drama Mama.
Am I Asian? No. I'm from the Southern portion of the USA.
Do I like drama? I don't like political drama, but I do like T.V. and movies!
Am I a mama? Yes, yes I am.
So, why do I call myself the Asian Drama Mama? I love watching Asian dramas and movies!
I have spent many years watching Asian dramas and movies. I'll admit it, I'm addicted to them. I watch dramas just about every day, even getting my husband involved from time to time. The more I watch, the more I want to talk about them. I think my husband and sister have both grown increasingly tired of hearing me gush or rant over whatever I've been watching. I just can't help it, though!
I talk about these shows so much because I feel like they are completely underrated. I get a lot of mixed reviews when people find out I watch Asian shows. Plenty of people look at me with confusion plastered all over their face. I even get asked a lot if I can understand what the actors are even saying. Thank goodness for subtitles, am I right? I'm sure plenty of other people have been in the same position I am. Also, sometimes the descriptions of the dramas can be a little misleading or give you no information at all. I wanted to create a blog where I could discuss and review the dramas that I have watched or may be watching with like-minded drama lovers, or even people who are just now getting into the drama scene.
I originally began watching only Korean dramas. They were my first addiction. As I have grown, I have begun branching out to others from China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Japan. Many people may view Asian dramas as very similar, or practically the same even, but they all have their own flavor. Even when you find a show that has a remake from each region, you can find the differences between them. I love watching these shows for the storylines, the actors, the drama, and so much more. There's a lot to love about them and I want to share that love with other people. The only thing this blog will not do is provide spoilers for the shows I review and I more than likely will not do an episode by episode recap of each one. I really want to share what I experienced with each show and let others go have their own experiences with them as well. I'll be providing the titles, information about where to watch, whether they're free to watch or require a subscription, as well as give a small plot synopsis and a little character information.
Whether you're new to watching these shows or even a long-time addict like myself, I welcome you to read this blog. Anyone can be a part of my drama family!
